Community Profiles Help

Introduction

The Massachusetts Family Literacy Consortium developed community profiles to help document the range of need and assets in individual Massachusetts communities, facilitate the identification of stakeholders invested in the well-being of families, and create opportunities for leveraging federal, state, and local resources. The profiles are intended to be a snapshot of each community and should not be construed as comprehensive. Additional profiles and data about communities can be accessed from links at the bottom of each profile.

Profile Use

The Community Profiles are used by superintendents, mayors, municipal leaders, and other community stakeholders to provide a snapshot of need and supports for undereducated families in their communities. On the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Needs Profile, state averages and a summary of statewide data are available for comparison with individual community profiles. On the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Assets Profile, the data represents the sum of resources available statewide.
